Bride Spotlight | Lynette Kankamp-Larsen

Written by Alyssa (Roundy) Phillips.

Happy Monday to all of our bashful brides (and even the not so bashful ones). On this lovely morning, we bring you the first ever bride spotlight! Bride spotlights will be exactly what they sound like - we will be telling stories and showing off the wonderful brides who come through our store.

Today's bride is the one and only Lynette Kankamp-Larsen.

Lynette came to us in October of 2019 looking for something fitted with lots of sparkle. She got exactly that and more when she said yes to the Cordoba and got it ordered in time for her July wedding.

Five years ago, Lynette lost her husband to cancer. Although such a tragic loss is hard to overcome, Lynette found a light in the dark. And his name was Curt. For two years, they dated in order to blend the families that they had both created from previous marriages. When they finally decided they were ready to get married, they pulled out all the stops.

"In planning this wedding I didn't want to have any regrets so we did the entire formal wedding and it was so perfect." - Lynette

All the details had come together: she had a beautiful dress, a comfortable venue (her backyard) and ALMOST all of her friends and family. The only person missing was her son, Brandon. He had joined the Air National Guard and wouldn't be able to finish basic training in time for the wedding. Little did Lynette know, Brandon had been sent home two weeks early to finish training on base in Salt Lake City. Her kids were able to keep Brandon hidden until the big day. They surprised her right in time for Brandon to walk her down the aisle.

As you can see, she was shocked that he had shown up. He truly completed the wedding and made it everything that Lynette and Curt had dreamed.

Check out these bridal pics that Lynette and Curt took at Tibble Fork Reservoir and the Capitol building!

We want to thank Lynette for opening up to us and allowing us to share her story with all of you!
