You just got engaged - Congratulations! Now what?

There’s so much to think about and so much to do! To help simplify things, we’ve created a guide focused on one of the most exciting parts: finding your wedding dress. Many brides feel the urge to start shopping right away, and for some, that’s the perfect approach. However, we’ll walk you through the best time to shop and the type of appointment that may suit you best!

When to Start Shopping

Wedding dresses typically take 6–8 months to be made and shipped to the store, so timing is crucial when planning your shopping trip.

Our store specializes in modest wedding dresses, and we understand that not every bride has the luxury of a long planning timeline. If you’re working with a shorter timeframe, here are some helpful tips:

  • If you don’t have 6–8 months to order a dress, ask your consultant whether the designers you're interested in have any in-stock gowns. These dresses are typically available in the designer’s warehouse and can arrive within 2–4 weeks—a lifesaver for shorter engagements!
  • Consider buying off the rack. We sell many of our gowns directly off the rack, allowing brides to see exactly what they’re getting and take their dress home the same day if needed.
  • We also specialize in Casablanca Bridal, which is a designer that has a super rush. Ask your consultant for more details on what their time-lines are.
  • If you have 8–12 months, now is a great time to begin shopping. You’ll have plenty of time to browse and find your dream dress without feeling rushed.
  • If you have 12+ months, use this time to research. Create a Pinterest board, explore bridal boutiques you'd like to visit, and look into designers that match your style. We generally recommend waiting until about a year before your wedding to start shopping—this helps avoid second-guessing a decision made too early.

What's the Best Day to Shop?

The shopping experience can vary depending on the day of the week.

  • For a calm, quiet environment: Book a weekday appointment. Weekdays are typically less crowded, offering a more relaxed and private experience.
  • For a lively, high-energy experience: Book a weekend appointment. The energy is higher, and some brides love the excitement and buzz of a busy bridal shop.

Which Appointment Should You Book?

We offer several types of appointments to cater to each bride’s preferences:

  • Standard Appointment – Our classic, complimentary appointment where you’ll work one-on-one with a stylist to find your perfect dress! Other appointments may be happening simultaneously. You’re allowed 3-4 guests at your appointment.
  • Private Appointment – Enjoy an exclusive, after-hours shopping experience with the entire store to yourself! You’ll work with a senior stylist in a more intimate setting. This appointment includes a fee, which covers a complimentary celebratory beverage and special add-on options. You’re allowed up to 10 guests at a private appointment, however, remember that the more guests means the more opinions which can sometimes make things more difficult.
  • Virtual Appointment – Not local to Utah? No problem! With a virtual appointment, you can browse our in-store inventory via video call with a specialized stylist. A small fee applies, but it can be credited toward your purchase.

By understanding when to shop, which day suits you best, and the ideal appointment type, you’ll be one step closer to finding the wedding dress of your dreams!
