DIY Wedding | Claralise Gown | LDS Bride Blog

Today on LDS Bride Blog we have the cutest little DIY wedding to share with you! This darling couple, Kendal and Cam, did all their own decorations and totally transformed a not so special room into something adorable. Even better, this lovely Southern bride chose one of our most gorgeous gowns for her big day! I can't wait to share this classic yet creative wedding with you, so let's dive in!

DIY Wedding | Claralise Gown

Okay guys, this shoot is honestly such a treat to be able to share with you. Kendal and Cam were married for time and all eternity in the Birmingham, Alabama temple, which is such a neat building. Afterwards they got caught in a sudden storm during their photos, which made for some seriously cute "running through the rain" shots. The details in this wedding were carefully thought through, and came together in total perfection. I don't know where she found her gorgeous floral shoes, but I'm in love! Her bouquet from Petals of Serenity was perfection, with dusty pink roses, tiny white wildflowers with sunny yellow centers, and gorgeous muted greenery.

They decorated the entire room their reception was held in by themselves, a truly DIY wedding. Imagine the money they saved, and it turned out SO cute. They even made beautiful streamers from (get this) COFFEE FILTERS. What?! I would have never guessed that's what those were made of. How creative! Their reception was made complete with a beautiful three-tiered cake with ruffled white buttercream baked by Edgar's, accented by more dusty pink roses and the cutest darn cake topper I've ever seen (perfect for this DIY wedding, not too flashy but timeless and sweet). In true southern style, their DIY wedding reception was catered by Full Moon BBQ (yum). Can you really get married in Alabama without BBQ? Just sayin.

One of my favorite details is the cute candy bar they put together. "Love is sweet, please take a treat." was written on a darling plaque in the middle of the table. SO. CUTE. Every detail came together seamlessly for such a beautiful DIY wedding. They probably had so much fun decorating and planning together! They even had an "Oh snap" sign with their own unique Instagram hashtag for guests to use so all the photos from their special night would be in one place. Genius! It doesn't stop there though. They had a "Date Jar" where guests could write date ideas for the newlyweds! A memory table was also thoughtfully put together in honor of loved ones who had passed away and couldn't be there with them. Oh, my heart. They finished their special night with a bubbly sendoff surrounded by all their family and friends. So perfect!

Here's the spot where I get to gush about the dress! (You totally knew this was coming, I'm shameless) The Claralise! This dress is truly one of a kind, from the gorgeous lace bodice with a unique v-neck, a flattering waistline, and flowing a-line skirt. The best part though, are the flirty cascading layers that give the skirt tons of volume and beauty that you just can't find in another gown. There's nothing like it! Alright, I'm done gushing for now.

Thanks for joining us to swoon over this darling DIY wedding! See you next time! XO
